Alcune settimane fa ho installato Ubuntu 15.10 sul mio Lenovo z50-70. Da allora sto riscontrando problemi con il wifi: mostra che il pc è connesso, ma dopo un po’ non funziona affatto. Devo disconnettermi/riconnettermi per farlo funzionare di nuovo, e questo accade ogni 15-20 minuti (ora sto usando un modem TP-Link).

I made some progress… but didn’t solve it I discovered that I had connected the Tiscali modem on the “internet” port of the TPLINK router… effectively creating 2 separate “networks”… so I moved the ethernet cable at this point I opened the port with the IP address of the Nas on the Tiscali modem

Cari tutti, ho messo il nostro Huawei HG523a fornito da TalkTalk in modalità bridge in modo da poter usare il nostro router, il TP-LINK-WDR3600, per connetterci via PPPoE al modem in modo da poter accedere a Internet. TalkTalk utilizza un MTU di 1432 per le connessioni PPPoA. È lo stesso quando ci si connette via PPPoE come in questo caso?
Ciao AlecR, a me risulta che l’MTU di Talk Talks sia impostato a 1432. Pertanto, non è possibile utilizzare un MTU più grande di questo valore. Se lo si fa, i pacchetti vengono frammentati, causando potenziali problemi di prestazioni e di altro tipo, come il mancato caricamento completo delle pagine web o problemi di accesso al sito.
Indipendentemente dal protocollo, l’MTU si basa sull’impostazione più bassa di TUTTI i router attraverso cui passano i dati. Se il routing di TT sulla sua rete è impostato a 1432, quando i pacchetti di dati passano sulla rete TT la dimensione massima del segmento sarà al minimo… e quindi un possibile punto di frammentazione. L’MTU ottimale si baserà sull’MTU più basso impostato sui router di rete di qualsiasi rete che i dati attraversano dal punto di partenza al punto di arrivo.
